Palaces
The Royal, Haga and Drottningholm Palace are all located in or near the city centre of Stockholm. At the Royal Court´s own website you find further information on all the royal palaces available in the area as well as their opening hours.

Vasa Museum
The impressive warship Vasa sank on her maiden journey on August 10, 1628. It took no less than 333 years before this fascinating and well-preserved ship was salvaged and in 1990 the current museum opened up. The failure of the ship has been turned in to a successful museum with approximately one million visitors a year.

City Hall
Here is one of Stockholm and Sweden’s most renowned buildings. The grand architecture, the civil ceremonies and the annual Nobel Banquet which take place here make this a famous site. With the guided tours you are allowed to visit the beautiful halls and the view from City Hall tower is amazing.

Gröna Lund
The dance floor was the main attraction when this amusement park opened in 1883. Today the dancing is still popular but it is competing for attention with the well-liked attractions, rides, concerts and activities taking place here throughout the whole summer season.

Birka
Sweden is often associated with the Vikings and at Birka in Lake Mälaren, you get the opportunity to explore everything about them. The island Birka is said to be Sweden’s first town and with its many ancient monuments it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the summer season there are boats going here daily.

Skansen
Since the opening in 1891, this combined open-air museum and zoo, has been one of the most popular destinations in Stockholm. You will find Nordic animals, buildings and crafts typical for our country. For those who wish, there is also a wide selection of music and dance events as well as the newly renovated Lill-Skansen, “Little Skansen”, for all children.

Junibacken
At Galärvarvet on Djurgården, you find this “fairytale-play-house” where the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren’s beloved children’s books and characters, e.g. Pippi Longstocking, are in focus. It features, among other things, a fairytale train where you travel through all the worlds’ that Astrid created. Characters from tales written by other authors are also present at this pretty museum.

Fotografiska
With its 5500 square meters, this is one of the world’s largest photographic museums. It features both well-known and less established photographers’ works. The building also holds a restaurant offering one of the city’s most beautiful views.

Fjäderholmarna
A visit to the Stockholm archipelago is a must. It consists of several thousand islands of which Fjäderholmarna, “Feather Islet”, is the closest one to the city. This little island offers you restaurants, crafts and beautiful cliffs to swim off, when the weather permits.
